Hacienda Jesús María in Comalcalco, Tabasco, is the estate home of Chocolates CACEP, founded in 1987 by Vicente Cacep to revive Tabasco's cacao and chocolate culture. CACEP grows and ferments its own organic cocoa on the estate and acts as an industrial anchor for surrounding smallholder families in the Chontalpa plain, exporting fermented specialty lots to craft chocolate makers in the United States and France.
