This archive is built record by record, and it is not finished. If you grow, trade, study, or make chocolate from cacao, you know things it does not yet record. Corrections are as welcome as additions — a wrong elevation or a mis-assigned cluster is worth reporting.

What is useful

A new origin we do not cover. A correction to an existing record. Planting material actually grown at an origin — clone codes or local landrace names. Certifications we have missed. A better source for something currently thinly cited. A translation improvement in your language.

What we need with it

A citable source. That is the one hard requirement — a cooperative or estate page, a government or NGO report, an academic paper, a research-station record. We do not add facts we cannot attribute, so an uncited submission cannot be merged however plausible it is. If you know something first-hand that is not published anywhere, tell us that plainly and we will record it as unverified rather than dress it up.

Credit and privacy

Contributors are credited by whatever handle they choose, and a pseudonym is entirely fine. We do not publish contributor email addresses or real names. You keep no obligations to us; merged contributions carry the archive's CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence like everything else.

If it relates to an existing record, its ID (e.g. ve-chuao) helps us route it. A handle or pseudonym. Leave blank to stay uncredited. Only used to ask you a follow-up question. Never published, never added to any list.

What happens next

The editorial team checks the submission against the cited source and the archive's conventions, then merges it or writes back with a question. New prose is translated into the other languages automatically. Merged records show their updated date, and the change is noted in the public changelog.
